Injective Foundation Launches Trench Treasury
@Injective has rolled out a new ecosystem incentive program called the Trench Treasury, and its first round of rewards is already out the door. The program was announced on October 5, 2026, and officially kicked off the following day with initial distributions to the communities behind Sprout (@sproutsomefun) and RunUp (@runupdotfun).
The Trench Treasury is designed to directly support projects within the Injective ecosystem that generate value for $INJ and the broader community. Its two mandates are to back teams building with $INJ and to develop reward programs for supporters of ecosystem projects. The name is a deliberate nod to grassroots culture. Injective describes the "trenches" as where new users show up and early-stage projects typically begin.
The foundation frames the treasury as distinct from traditional grant programs. Where classic grants often fund early ideas and hope for the best, this program focuses on projects that already show signs of sustainability and participants who have stayed engaged over time.
Why Sprout and RunUp Were Chosen First
Sprout and RunUp were selected as the first recipients for a specific reason: both projects have been credited with driving user engagement and bringing new builders onto Injective.Sprout allows users to launch tokens, while RunUp brings memecoins and stock perpetuals together on the network.
When assessing which projects qualify going forward, Injective has listed five parameters: being built with $INJ at the core, broad and organic holder distribution, real liquidity with sustained community activity, a fair launch with no outsized team allocation, and innovative technology or value-accrual mechanics.
The Injective Foundation has not yet disclosed the overall size of the treasury, the specific reward amounts sent to Sprout and RunUp, or a formal application process for other teams. The Trench Treasury is described as the first of several initiatives the foundation plans to roll out.
