Vulcan Goes Live After Near-Unanimous Staker Approval
@Injective is preparing to activate its Vulcan Mainnet upgrade on June 4, 2026, following a governance vote that returned a 99.72% approval rate from $INJ stakers. The Injective Hub confirmed scheduled maintenance on June 4 at approximately 14:00 UTC to implement the upgrade.
The upgrade aims to establish the network as a high-performance settlement layer for stablecoins and tokenized real-world assets, while also introducing a next-generation oracle engine that cuts gas usage by 90% for price updates and adds support for Pyth Pro and SEDA oracles.A new oracle precompile puts canonical Injective price data directly inside EVM smart contracts, meaning every application across the MultiVM can access accurate on-chain prices without external integration.
With Vulcan, the project aims to make it easier for builders to launch and settle assets on the same chain where users trade, lend, and hedge. As tokenization grows, Injective argues that a single, purpose-built chain can simplify the way capital moves across spot, derivatives, and RWA positions. The chain's native on-chain orderbook is central to that ambition, providing fully decentralized, MEV-resistant infrastructure that applications can plug into directly.
First Regulated $INJ Fund Launches in Asia
Alongside the mainnet upgrade, @Injective has announced the launch of M-INJ, described as the first regulated $INJ fund in Asia. Powered by Merkle Capital, M-INJ is designed to give investors access to INJ through a compliant investment vehicle for the first time in the region.
The product reflects a broader push toward regulated access to $INJ globally. In April 2026, the first U.S.-regulated INJ futures launched on Bitnomial Exchange, a CFTC-regulated designated contract market, giving institutional and retail participants a regulated path to INJ price exposure, hedging, and portfolio construction.Separately, hedge fund manager Canary Capital has filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to launch the Canary Staked INJ ETF, a product that would track the price of INJ while also offering staking rewards to investors.
Taken together, the Vulcan upgrade and the M-INJ fund launch mark a notable week for Injective as it pushes simultaneously on both the technical and institutional fronts.
