A Liquidity Layer Built on Verified Commerce
@Inter_link has announced the upcoming launch of the InterLink Business Token Exchange (IBTE), a dedicated marketplace designed to bring real-world commercial revenue on-chain. Unlike most token exchanges, IBTE is built specifically for verified operating businesses, giving them a direct path to convert transaction revenue into on-chain liquidity.
The exchange is being developed on top of infrastructure that already supports more than 9 million verified users, a network InterLink describes as its Human Layer. The platform's $ITL token is designed to provide institutional alignment within the InterLink ecosystem, playing a critical role in enabling structured access to a global network of verified, bot-resistant users. That verification backbone is central to the IBTE proposition: every token listed on the exchange must represent an active, operating business rather than a speculative project.
Shifting RWA Focus Toward Business Revenue
The move places InterLink within a fast-growing segment of the crypto market. The tokenized real-world asset market has grown nearly fivefold in three years, reaching $26.4 billion in on-chain value, with projections from Boston Consulting Group and Ripple forecasting expansion to $18.9 trillion by 2033. Most of that growth, however, has centred on tokenized Treasuries, private credit, and real estate. IBTE takes a different angle, targeting commercial operating revenue as the underlying asset class.
The distinction matters. Tokenized real-world assets are blockchain-based digital tokens that represent physical and traditional financial assets, and their tokenization marks a significant shift in how assets can be accessed, exchanged, and managed. By anchoring listed tokens to active business revenue rather than static assets or project promises, IBTE aims to introduce a verifiable performance layer that most current RWA platforms do not require.
$ITL is the core utility and strategic token, structured for integration with ecosystem partners, institutions, and large-scale capital, and is the token InterLink will align with future public offerings or stock listings, offering a regulatory-friendly, institution-ready model. Whether IBTE can scale that institutional ambition into a functioning marketplace for commercial issuers remains to be seen, but the announcement signals a clear intent to move the platform beyond its current consumer-focused identity into the business infrastructure space.
No firm launch date for IBTE has been confirmed at the time of writing.
