ICP Sets New Weekly Revenue Record
Internet Computer ($ICP), the layer-1 blockchain developed by the @dfinity Foundation, has reached a new financial milestone. Its rolling seven-day on-chain revenue climbed to $96,924, surpassing the $95,000 mark for the first time. Network telemetry showed an instant 2.45% jump in revenue at the time of the reading, pointing to sustained and growing demand for computation on the network.
The weekly figure builds on a broader upward trend. @dfinity crossed $360,000 in monthly revenue, a new milestone for Internet Computer reached on October 4, 2026. The back-to-back records suggest that activity on the network is accelerating rather than plateauing.
How Internet Computer Generates Revenue
The network generates protocol revenue when developers convert ICP into "cycles" to pay for computation and storage consumed by applications, with those ICP tokens subsequently burned. This reverse-gas model means revenue is a direct reflection of real application usage, not speculative trading volume.
The milestone also arrives in the context of a broader economic model update. The DFINITY Foundation's revised framework allocates 80% of cloud engine revenue to nodes, with 20% used for ICP token burns, a change designed to align node rewards with business revenue and enhance token value capture.
The revenue progress marks a meaningful step for a network that, according to Token Terminal data, earned $3.6 million in protocol revenue over the past year. Weekly figures approaching $100,000 suggest that annualised run rate is now moving considerably higher.
