@Cardano has been one of the standout performers in the latest crypto market rally, with gains showing up not just in price but in network usage. $ADA has climbed sharply over the past couple of days, riding a wave of bullish sentiment that has lifted the broader digital asset market.

Onchain Activity Nearly Doubles in 48 Hours

The more telling story, however, is what is happening on the blockchain itself. Per ChainSpect, Cardano's daily transaction count almost doubled over a 48-hour window, with the network processing over 32,000 transactions in a single day after a 48% volume increase one day and a further 33% rise the next. That run broke another daily transaction record for the chain.

The surge in usage tracks with a broader pattern of growing network activity in 2026. Cardano's mainnet has now crossed 122.7 million cumulative transactions and has maintained 100% uptime for more than eight years since its 2017 launch. Transactions on Cardano have continued to be processed with relatively stable and fair fees, which has contributed to user retention and broader adoption.

Fundamentals Add Weight to the Rally

The price move has not come in a vacuum. Cardano has also achieved record decentralization, according to data from ChainSpect, with its Nakamoto coefficient reaching 16. A higher Nakamoto coefficient means more independent parties would need to be compromised to disrupt the network, a signal of improved resilience.

Cardano's Dijkstra era began on August 6, 2026, focusing on scalability with upgrades like Ouroboros Leios targeted for later in the year. Whales accumulated over 240 million ADA in early August, contributing to a 22% price surge, while Cardano's DeFi total value locked rose 11% to approximately $70 million over the same period.

Whether the current momentum can hold will depend on broader market conditions and continued adoption. But for now, both the price and the underlying network metrics are pointing in the same direction.
