Terra Classic is set to activate Core v4.1.1 today, October 26, at block height 31,010,600. The network will pause temporarily until enough validators have upgraded. The release is aimed at stability rather than any change to the economics of $LUNC.

What the v4.1.1 upgrade changes

The headline fix targets so-called "ghost" transactions. According to the upgrade proposal published on the Terra Classic community forum, a transaction can under certain conditions be accepted by the network yet never reach a block. Because account transactions must follow sequence order, one stuck transaction can block every later transaction from the same wallet. The proposal says v4.1.1 removes the cause of the problem and adds a safeguard against this class of issue.

The release also restores vesting wallets. Proposal materials describe a fix that makes LazyGradedVestingAccount accounts readable and usable again, after they stopped working following a recent SDK update. Two smaller fixes harden the tax module against panics, meaning crashes in the tax code.

The upgrade has no tokenomics or taxation changes. The proposal states it contains no state migrations, no new modules and no parameter changes. It was also rehearsed on an in-place testnet built from real mainnet state.

What users and validators need to do

Regular users and dApps do not need to take any action. Validators and node operators do. The proposal tells them to keep running v4.0.2 until the upgrade height and not to switch early, because v4.1.1 accepts block proposals slightly differently. Since the change affects which block proposals a validator accepts, all validators must switch at the same height, which is why it needs a governance upgrade rather than a rolling update. Proposal #12233 passed on-chain governance.

The chain halts at block 31,010,600 and resumes once validators holding more than two-thirds of voting power are running the new binary. The proposal estimated the upgrade for around 15:00 UTC, though block times can shift the exact timing.

Will it move the LUNC price?

Routine maintenance upgrades of this kind do not alter supply, fees or burn mechanics, so there is no direct mechanism for a price effect. Market data shows LUNC under pressure. Gate's market page lists a decline of about 15% over 30 days, while Bybit data for October 26 shows a price near $0.0000443 and a market cap of roughly $244 million.

The upgrade is better read as a reliability fix for holders, validators and developers than a price catalyst. Whether stability improvements feed into broader sentiment will depend on factors outside this release, including ecosystem adoption and wider market conditions. This article is not investment advice.
