Kaspa's native $KAS token has been added to the @NOWPayments_io platform, giving businesses and individuals a new way to send crypto payments to partners and employees with no network or service fees and settlements completing in under a second.
NowPayments is a significant player in the crypto payment gateway space, standing out for its tailored solutions and accessibility across a range of industries. The platform focuses on sectors including gaming, NFT marketplaces, and e-commerce, offering customized API solutions to integrate crypto payments into different business models.
The speed underpinning the integration comes from Kaspa's core architecture. Powered by a BlockDAG rather than a linear chain, Kaspa accepts multiple blocks in parallel, delivering sub-second confirmations, high throughput, and near-zero fees while preserving full proof-of-work decentralization. The network currently processes around 10 blocks per second and has set its sights on even higher rates of 32 to 100 or more blocks per second.
Taking Aim at Legacy Payment Systems
The move is a deliberate push to position $KAS as a practical alternative to traditional payment rails, which are often slow and costly, particularly for cross-border or high-frequency transactions.
KAS is a decentralized cryptocurrency that transcends geographical boundaries, meaning businesses accepting it can tap into a global customer base without relying on complex cross-border payment systems.Merchants can receive $KAS and instantly exchange it for a stablecoin, allowing them to enjoy the speed and minimal fees of Kaspa while sidestepping cryptocurrency price volatility.
The integration also fits into a broader period of momentum for the Kaspa network. Kaspa's codebase recently underwent its most significant transformation with the Toccata hard fork, which activated native programmability, KRC-20 token support, and zero-knowledge proof verification on mainnet in June 2026. Together, these developments signal a project pushing well beyond its original payments-focused remit.
