Kaspa ($KAS), the proof-of-work layer-1 network, is closing in on 2.5 billion cumulative transactions, with its wallet count nearing 600,000. The growth comes despite a volatile few weeks for the wider crypto industry, which has included a series of high-profile hacks.
According to the Kaspa block explorer (explorer.kaspa.org), $KAS has processed about 2.437 billion transactions and hosts 566,781 wallet addresses. Both measures have risen sharply in the second half of 2026, based on the explorer data.
The current figures mark a clear step up from earlier in the year. In February, Kaspa passed 600 million cumulative transactions, with the explorer then showing 540,468 wallet addresses, according to data compiled at the time. That means the wallet count has risen by roughly 26,000 addresses since then, while the cumulative transaction total has grown roughly fourfold.
The scale of recent activity reflects a long-running push on throughput. On October 5, 2025, the network processed more than 158 million transactions in a single day, according to figures cited from Kaspa Report by MEXC News. The same report noted that Bitcoin handled roughly 160 million transactions across the year from October 2024 to October 2025.
It is worth noting that cumulative transaction counts and wallet addresses are imperfect gauges of real usage. Address totals do not equal unique users, and a single day of very high activity can add substantially to cumulative totals. The figures are best read as an indicator of network throughput rather than a measure of adoption.
Kaspa's throughput rests on its blockDAG design and the GHOSTDAG protocol, which allows blocks to be created in parallel. The Crescendo hard fork raised the network's target block rate from one block per second to 10, according to TokenPost, with the monetary emission schedule left unchanged in terms of coins issued per second.
More recently, the network has moved on to the Toccata upgrade. Press material published in September 2026 said Kaspa's infrastructure has continued to evolve after Toccata, with new open-source developer tooling such as Zelcore's kaspa-core library for building and signing transactions, and growing KRC-20 token activity. That material is a promotional press release and should be read with caution.
For now, the explorer figures show the network on course to pass the 2.5 billion transaction mark. Network metrics do not necessarily translate into price performance, and readers should treat on-chain activity data as one input among many.
