@LayerZero_Core's $ZRO token is moving against the grain. While most of the top 100 cryptocurrencies traded in the red on September 23, ZRO posted a 10.9% gain over 24 hours, reaching $1.51. Over the past week, the token has climbed roughly 55%, up from around $0.98.

Bitcoin, by contrast, slipped 2.6% to trade near $84,300, underscoring just how much ZRO has diverged from the broader market.

Volume and Supply Context

Trading volume for ZRO hit $230.6 million on the day, a 54% jump, and equivalent to roughly 40% of its $570 million market cap. That ratio signals unusually high turnover relative to the token's size, a dynamic that often accompanies short-term momentum trades as much as fundamental conviction.

According to CoinMarketCap data, only 38% of ZRO's total 1 billion token supply is currently in circulation. The concentration of tokens yet to enter the market is a factor traders typically weigh when assessing long-term dilution risk.

What LayerZero Does

LayerZero is a blockchain interoperability protocol that creates a communication system between blockchain networks, connecting different chains and addressing the challenge of liquidity fragmentation, where activity on each chain is siloed within its own ecosystem. The protocol has facilitated over $50 billion in value transfers, supports more than 70 blockchains, and has over 200 applications built on top of it.

Catalysts cited by analysts include LayerZero increasing executor fees to capture more network revenue and an expected "Zero L1" launch in fall 2026, which would position ZRO as the native gas and staking token for that network. CoinGabbar noted it could not independently verify the buyback or fee claims at the time of writing.

Reclaiming the token's all-time high remains a longer road, with a 64.55% gap still in place. Analysts also flag the deeply overbought RSI as the clearest near-term risk, raising the odds of a sharp pullback if buyers step back.

For now, ZRO is one of the few tokens in the top 100 printing green in an otherwise difficult session.
