Chainlink — LINK, is facing a crucial test near $10.87. The token recently pulled back after September’s spike above $13. Meanwhile, fresh political uncertainty has pressured the broader crypto market. LINK traded near $10.88 on Wednesday, showing little daily movement. However, the current zone carries technical importance for traders. Previous resistance near $10.85-$10.90 could now become support. A decisive break below that area would change the short-term outlook.
LINK previously struggled around the $10.85-$10.90 region. The token later broke above that area during the August rally. That breakout turned former resistance into a potential support zone. LINK now needs buyers to defend the same level again. A sustained hold above $10.85 could keep higher targets within reach. Traders may then watch the $11.50-$12 range next.
Above that zone, September’s high near $13 becomes the bigger hurdle. However, a daily close below $10.85 could weaken the bullish structure. Such a move could expose support around the $10 level. A rising trendline also sits near that area on the daily chart. Momentum has also cooled significantly since the August surge. Daily RSI now sits around 46 after exceeding 80 during the rally.
The decline shows that previous overbought conditions have faded. However, buyers have yet to regain clear momentum. The technical picture therefore remains balanced near the current price. LINK needs stronger buying pressure to reclaim higher levels. Sellers could gain control if support fails during upcoming sessions. Meanwhile, broader market conditions add another layer of uncertainty for LINK holders.
Senate Vote Adds Pressure to the Crypto Market
The U.S. Senate failed to secure 60 votes for the CLARITY Act. The vote blocked progress on legislation targeting digital asset market rules. The proposed framework sought clearer roles for the SEC and CFTC. Bitcoin and several crypto-related stocks declined after the Senate vote. Coinbase and Circle also faced selling pressure following the development. Regulatory clarity carries particular relevance for Chainlink’s broader growth story.
The network targets institutional blockchain infrastructure and tokenized real-world assets. Chainlink also connects traditional financial systems with public blockchain networks. Reuters reported that lawmakers could reconsider the bill through another procedural route. However, the failed vote creates greater uncertainty around comprehensive crypto legislation. Chainlink continues developing institutional partnerships despite the political setback.
Earlier this month, Wyoming adopted Chainlink Proof of Reserve for FRNT. FRNT represents Wyoming’s state-issued stable token. Proof of Reserve provides near real-time verification of reserves onchain. Such infrastructure can help users monitor backing for digital assets. Wyoming also moved FRNT’s cross-chain infrastructure to Chainlink CCIP.
