Litecoin Calls Out Reddit's r/CryptoCurrency Over Alleged Targeted Censorship
The official @Litecoin account on X has gone public with a sharp accusation against @Reddit's flagship r/CryptoCurrency forum, alleging a coordinated effort to suppress positive content about the cryptocurrency. The statement has drawn attention from the broader crypto community and raised questions about moderation practices on one of the internet's most influential crypto discussion boards.
"There's a concerted effort on r/CryptoCurrency to ban anything positive about Litecoin. Litecoin supporters simply posting general news should not be banned and/or suspended. This needs to stop," Litecoin wrote on X.
Forum members have corroborated the claim, noting selective post deletions and account suspensions tied specifically to positive $LTC coverage. According to Crypto Times, the accusation appears to have been partly triggered after at least one user reported being banned following a post about a Litecoin partnership announcement. The subreddit's moderators have not publicly responded to the allegations.
Why It Matters for a Mature Proof-of-Work Network
The controversy is notable given Litecoin's standing as one of the oldest and most established cryptocurrencies in the market.
