MANTRA — OM, faces another major setback after OM crashed to a record low Thursday. The sharp decline came shortly before the project halted MANTRA Chain. OM briefly fell below $0.0042 before recovering toward $0.0044. Trading activity also surged as traders reacted to the unexpected network outage. MANTRA has not disclosed the incident’s cause or confirmed any asset losses. The network remains offline while engineering and security teams investigate the situation.
OM Price Drops as MANTRA Chain Suffers Full Outage
OM fell from $0.005060 to $0.004126 around 11:00 pm UTC Thursday. The move represented an 18.5% decline from the token’s 24-hour high. OM later recovered slightly and traded around $0.0044. Despite that rebound, OM remained down roughly 10% over 24 hours. Trading volume also surged during the same period. CoinGecko data showed volume increasing nearly 600% to $24 million. The sharp activity reflects heightened market uncertainty surrounding the network disruption.
Traders reacted quickly as OM approached a new record low. However, MANTRA has not confirmed a direct connection between the outage and price decline. MANTRA published an incident notice at 11:44 pm UTC Thursday. The team confirmed an incident affecting MANTRA Chain and halted the network. Developers described the move as a precaution during the investigation. MANTRA’s status page classified the incident as a full network outage.
Public endpoints and validators remained affected during the disruption. Bridge migration operations also faced interruptions during the shutdown. MANTRA-managed Inter-Blockchain Communication relays also appeared among affected services. The last block arrived at block 17,449,398 around 11:13 pm UTC. No additional blocks have appeared since that point. The halt therefore affects core blockchain operations across the network.
Exchange Services Face Disruptions as MANTRA Investigates
The blockchain halt has also affected cryptocurrency exchange operations. Several exchanges have paused OM deposits and withdrawals following the network freeze. No clear timeline exists for restoring either service. The suspension prevents users from moving OM through affected blockchain infrastructure. Such restrictions can increase uncertainty during periods of heavy market volatility.
Exchange support will likely depend on MANTRA confirming network safety and stability. MANTRA has also avoided confirming whether user funds faced any danger. The project has not reported asset losses linked to the incident. That leaves traders waiting for further information from the team. Clear communication could become important as the investigation continues.
Investors may also watch whether OM stabilizes after the initial selling pressure. The current crisis adds to an already difficult period for MANTRA. The project experienced another severe token collapse during April 2025. The former OM token plunged more than 90% during that episode. Prices dropped from roughly $6.30 to below $0.50.
