Summary
- Mastercard launched its Global Money Platform, integrating BVNK stablecoin infrastructure with traditional banking services for businesses and financial institutions worldwide.
- The platform supports currency conversion, treasury management, and bank transfers, with Mastercard Move connecting over 17 billion payment endpoints
- Mastercard plans expanded payment coverage in 2027, alongside future support for tokenized deposits and automated commerce across financial networks.
Mastercard launched its Global Money Platform on October 15, combining BVNK’s stablecoin infrastructure with traditional payment services for banks, fintechs, and businesses in its first major integration since acquiring BVNK in August 2026.
According to Mastercard, the platform allows businesses to manage stablecoins and traditional currencies through one system, reducing reliance on multiple providers while simplifying cross-border transactions and improving liquidity management.
Mastercard confirmed that Nuvei, Marqeta, Ontop, Bolt Group, and Almond FinTech will be among the initial integration partners. These companies will use the infrastructure to introduce financial services connecting digital currencies with conventional banking networks.
Through a single application programming interface, businesses can access multicurrency accounts, currency conversion, stablecoin payments, and local bank transfers. The system also supports treasury management, allowing companies to oversee payments, settlements, and available balances within one infrastructure.

Mastercard Expands Stablecoin Payments Through Global Banking Networks
A central feature of the platform is its global money account, which supports both traditional currencies and stablecoins. Businesses can hold different currencies, convert funds, and process payments without maintaining separate accounts across multiple financial providers.
Additionally, Mastercard has integrated Mastercard Move, its global payment service connecting more than 17 billion endpoints. This integration enables businesses to use stablecoin balances for payments directly into recipients’ local bank accounts.
Mastercard expects coverage to expand beyond 40 currencies across more than 200 countries and territories in 2027. Card issuing capabilities will also extend across more than 130 countries, supporting purchases through Mastercard’s global merchant acceptance network.
The platform also allows businesses to adopt selected services based on their operational needs. Companies can introduce additional capabilities as they become available without replacing their existing financial infrastructure.
Mastercard Plans Tokenized Deposits and Automated Commerce Expansion
The platform builds on Mastercard’s August acquisition of BVNK, which expanded its capabilities in stablecoin payments and digital asset infrastructure. The integration combines BVNK’s technology with Mastercard’s established international payment network.
Chris Harmse, BVNK’s cofounder and chief business officer, emphasized the platform’s role in simplifying financial infrastructure for enterprise customers.
“Global Money Platform will become the single infrastructure layer not just for stablecoins, but for every form of money,” Harmse stated.
Meanwhile, Mastercard executive Raj Dhamodharan identified interoperability between traditional and digital currencies as a central objective of the integration.
Beyond its existing capabilities, Mastercard plans to introduce support for tokenized deposits and agentic commerce. These additions would expand the platform’s ability to support regulated digital assets and automated financial transactions.
Conclusion
Mastercard’s Global Money Platform is available through BVNK, with five companies identified among its initial integration partners. The launch connects stablecoin payments with traditional banking services, while Mastercard targets broader international payment coverage in 2027.
