Meta Platforms shares are currently trading at $681.90 during Thursday’s premarket session, marking a 1.1% increase and positioning the stock for its fifth consecutive session of gains. The stock has appreciated 10% since September 8, coinciding with the company’s introduction of Muse, its personal AI assistant.

Alexandr Wang, Meta’s Chief AI Officer, described Muse as “the biggest consumer AI launch since ChatGPT” in a statement shared on X. Wang further noted that Muse is recording higher daily download figures in the United States than Threads, WhatsApp, and Facebook.
On Thursday, Citi analyst Ronald Josey initiated an “upside 90-day catalyst watch” for META stock in anticipation of the company’s upcoming Meta Connect conference scheduled for next week. Josey maintained his Buy recommendation alongside an $800 price objective.
According to Josey, he has “been impressed with the experience” provided by Muse and views the robust download metrics as an encouraging indicator.
Moving forward, Citi anticipates the Meta Connect conference will feature an announcement regarding Meta’s artificial intelligence product strategy. Josey also mentioned that Meta is preparing to unveil an enhanced AI model referred to internally as “Watermelon.”
“We believe META’s product roadmap is becoming clearer suggesting multiple product catalysts ahead,” Josey stated.
Earlier in the week, Meta officially introduced Meta One, a subscription offering that provides elevated AI usage capacity and professional features across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
The subscription service has quickly amassed 15 million subscriptions and trial participants. Rosenblatt analyst Barton Crockett suggested Meta One could generate a multi-billion dollar annual revenue stream in future years.
Crockett noted that Meta One “builds upon momentum Meta is realizing with its new Muse personal agentive capability, which continues to stand near the top of app store rankings since its Sept. 8 launch.”
Rosenblatt maintains a Buy recommendation on META stock with an $886 price objective. JPMorgan has similarly highlighted enhanced AI monetization capabilities and strengthened advertising metrics as favorable developments.
Second Quarter Results and Institutional Holdings
Meta’s latest quarterly results, published on July 29, reported revenue of $60.8 billion for the second quarter, reflecting a 28% year-over-year growth and exceeding the $60.22 billion estimate. Earnings per share of $6.18 came in below the $7.19 consensus expectation.
Institutional investors currently hold 79.91% of META shares. George Kaiser Family Foundation expanded its position by 432.5% during Q2, acquiring an additional 2,967 shares.
The average analyst price target for META stands at $788.88, accompanied by a “Moderate Buy” consensus rating. Four analysts assign it a Strong Buy rating, 34 rate it as Buy, and nine maintain a Hold rating.
Meta has also announced a quarterly dividend distribution of $0.525 per share, scheduled for payment on September 28 to shareholders of record as of September 21. The ex-dividend date is September 21.
The stock commenced trading Thursday at $673.31. Its 52-week trading range extends from $520.26 to $790.80.
