On Monday Michael Saylor said that Bitcoin is entering "hyper-growth mode," describing the current market as a "BTC gold rush" that could eventually pull in $120 trillion.

Speaking in an interview, Saylor put global assets at $1,200 trillion. The crypto market as a whole is currently worth about $3 trillion.

If Bitcoin captures just 10% of global wealth, he argued, its value would jump from $3 trillion to $120 trillion, a 40-fold increase from where it stands today.

“The crypto economy sits at around $3 trillion today, while all other assets combined total 1,000 to 1,200 trillion. If we only reach 10% of those other assets, we grow from $3T to $120T,” Saylor said during the interview.

Speaking about the digital gold, he said, “Bitcoin is becoming the world's digital capital. You can call it digital gold; it serves as a long-term store of value.”

“Gold supply grows 2% annually, doubling every 36 years. That means economic wealth held in gold is diluted by half every 36 years. Bitcoin has no inflation, making your wealth's half-life infinite,” he added.

Not his first big number

Saylor has floated outsized Bitcoin targets for years. In March 2025, he said that Bitcoin could reach a $100 trillion market cap. He was speaking at the White House crypto summit.

At the Bitcoin Prague conference that year, he raised his long-term price target to $21 million by 2046, a figure he has tied to Bitcoin eventually making up a meaningful share of global wealth.

Monday's comments fit that same long-running thesis, framed around a shorter, more immediate window.

During the interview, Saylor said that new all-time highs are coming. However, he did not give a specific timeline.

“By 2035, 99% of all Bitcoin will have been mined. The final 1% will require another century to complete. Therefore, to acquire Bitcoin, buy between now and 2035,” he said.

Bitcoin has traded below its previous peak in recent weeks, and Strategy, the company he chairs, has continued adding to its Bitcoin holdings through September.

Strategy's position behind it

Saylor's confidence comes as Strategy remains the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, with holdings built through years of debt and equity raises.

Critics have long questioned whether such aggressive targets are realistic, but Saylor has stuck to his bullish framing through multiple market cycles.

Meanwhile, Saylor’s Strategy added 1,665 Bitcoin and bought back $152 million of its STRC preferred stock.

The purchase was roughly 75% bigger than the previous week's 950 BTC. Before that, the company ended a 10-week pause on Aug. 31 with 4,603 BTC. Strategy now holds 847,666 BTC, worth about $70.4 billion with Bitcoin trading near $83,000.
