A Six-Week Build Sprint with More Than $250,000 on the Line
@monad has launched Metropolis, a six-week global hackathon that opened on September 1 and runs through October 13. The event is structured across four tracks, with a prize pool exceeding $250,000. Each track winner takes home $30,000, with the remaining funds split between an overall champion and a series of sponsor bounties.
The hackathon is fully online and open to participants worldwide, though @monad is also hosting one-day in-person meetups in seven cities for builders who want to collaborate face to face. Submissions close on October 13, with judging running from October 14 to 27 and winners announced on November 3.
Ecosystem Support and a Residency for Top Teams
Beyond prize money, standout teams are being offered ecosystem support and a place in a residency program on the monad:native network, giving top builders direct access to the broader Monad infrastructure. Listed supporters for Metropolis include Tenderly, QuickNode, Envio, Kimi, and Cleanverse.
The launch of Metropolis adds to an already active year of builder activity for Monad. According to the Monad Foundation's builder page, across all hackathons in 2026, over 742 projects have been deployed, 413 of which were agentic, and more than 2,550 participants have taken part. Metropolis is the largest prize offering from the network to date, raising the stakes for developers building on the parallel EVM chain.
Builders interested in registering can find full track details, bounty criteria, and submission requirements at the official event page.
