Key Insights

  • Morgan Stanley sets a $600 bull-case price target for SpaceX stock.
  • Analyst Adam Jones links the potential upside to Cursor’s frontier-model ambitions.
  • Morgan Stanley maintains its $300 base-case price target for SpaceX shares.

Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas has retained a $300 target for SpaceX while presenting a $600 bull-case valuation. Cursor could support that higher scenario as the company develops an AI platform spanning intelligence, data, computing, and connectivity.

Meanwhile, the SpaceX stock price trades below its IPO level following a brief move above $135 on Monday.

Cursor Supports SpaceX Stock Price Outlook

Jonas identified Cursor’s planned development from an AI coding assistant into a frontier model as a central factor. Morgan Stanley’s $600 bull case represents approximately 330% upside from the price referenced in its assessment.

Notably, SpaceX plans to acquire Cursor as part of its broader AI strategy. Jonas expects the combined platform to reach beyond software coding and connect several Musk-led businesses.

Under Morgan Stanley’s framework, Grok would operate as the platform’s intelligence layer. Meanwhile, X would provide real-time information for the wider system.

Additionally, SpaceXAI would supply computing capacity, while Starlink would handle connectivity. Tesla could provide a route for deploying the technology within physical AI applications.

As coding generation becomes more widely available, Jonas expects data ownership and deployment infrastructure to capture more value. He identified Cursor as the business currently occupying that layer.

Cursor Revenue Forecast Shapes $600 Case for SPCX Stock

Building on that structure, Morgan Stanley estimates Cursor could reach $8 billion in annual recurring revenue by year-end. The firm expects that figure to increase to approximately $33 billion by 2030.

However, the $33 billion estimate excludes potential revenue benefits from Cursor’s integration with the broader SpaceX ecosystem. The projection therefore reflects Cursor’s growth without additional contributions from related SpaceX operations.

Moreover, Jonas reported that few investors he contacts hold a bullish view of SpaceX’s AI business beyond neocloud. He expects further Cursor, Grok, and model-release details to clarify the company’s expanding AI plans.

Despite outlining the $600 scenario, Jonas maintained Morgan Stanley’s $300 base target. His higher valuation depends partly on Cursor gaining a larger role across the proposed platform.

SpaceX Stock Falls Below Its IPO Price

Meanwhile, SPCX stock briefly crossed its $135 IPO price on Monday before losing momentum. During this press, shares later traded at $131.41, marking a 5.29% session decline.

The move followed the August 6 expiration of restrictions covering more than 911.5 million insider-held shares. Traders had monitored the release for substantial insider selling after the June listing.

However, large-scale sales did not emerge, and the stock gained nearly 16% on Friday. That performance helped shares recover from their August low.

The lockup expiration more than doubled the number of shares available for public trading. The expanded float improved liquidity after SpaceX entered the market with limited tradable shares.

Nevertheless, retail traders became net sellers for the first time since the June IPO. Their selling occurred as the SpaceX stock price traded near a level closely watched by recent buyers.
