Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh is set to deliver his first Jackson Hole keynote on Aug. 28 at 10:00 a.m. ET, with investors watching closely for clues on inflation, interest rates and the Fed’s approach to the bond market.

Markets currently lean toward no rate change at the Fed’s September meeting. Prediction market Kalshi gives a 70% probability of rates remaining unchanged, compared with a 30% chance of a 25-basis-point hike and just 1% for a cut.

Warsh’s remarks also come after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced on Aug. 19 that the Treasury would double its longer-dated bond buybacks from $2 billion to at least $4 billion per operation beginning Sept. 9. Investors are looking for indications of whether the Fed could eventually support efforts to contain long-term yields.

That question matters for Bitcoin because expectations of lower yields and easier financial conditions can increase demand for risk assets. Bitcoin has climbed from around $64,000 last week to nearly $80,000 ahead of the speech.

Against that backdrop, one unidentified Bitcoin holder moved nearly $912 million in BTC just hours before Warsh was due to take the stage.

Bitcoin whale moves 11,499 BTC before Warsh speech

At 9:53 a.m. UTC on Aug. 28, an unknown wallet transferred 11,499 Bitcoin, worth approximately $912.1 million, to another unidentified wallet, according to blockchain tracker Whale Alert.

Almost the entire balance, about 11,499 BTC, was transferred to a single new address.

There is no evidence that the transfer represents a sale. Neither address was identified as belonging to an exchange, and large Bitcoin holders routinely reorganize funds for custody, security or operational purposes.

Still, large transfers often draw attention around major Federal Reserve events because traders can reposition ahead of expected volatility.

Warsh’s June FOMC debut also saw an unidentified holder move roughly $203 million in Bitcoin less than 48 hours before the Fed’s decision.

Fed policy can affect Bitcoin through interest rates, liquidity expectations and the U.S. dollar. Hawkish signals can pressure risk assets, while expectations of easier financial conditions can support them.
