NEAR Intents, the cross-chain swap system built on NEAR Protocol ($NEAR), generated more revenue in October than in any previous month, according to NEAR Protocol (@NEARProtocol). The platform (@near_intents) recorded $2.4 million in revenue and $3.9 billion in 30-day trading volume.
Cumulative trading volume has now passed $37 billion across 37 million completed swaps. The platform also logged more than 520,000 unique users over the past 30 days, and its ecosystem now supports 36 blockchain networks.
How NEAR Intents Works
NEAR Intents lets users state the outcome they want rather than manage the route themselves. Users can specify a desired outcome, such as swapping asset A on one chain for asset B on another, instead of manually managing routes, bridges, or liquidity sources. A competitive network of solvers returns the best execution, and the entire route settles in a single signed transaction.
The service does not issue its own token. It is infrastructure on NEAR Protocol, and the NEAR token secures the underlying network. Fees are set by the integrators that distribute the product. NEAR Intents' own documentation describes a configurable fee per swap, typically 20 to 100 basis points.
Revenue Growth and NEAR Buybacks
Revenue from the platform feeds directly into purchases of the NEAR token. DefiLlama data tracks this as holders revenue, which is the amount the project has put toward buying NEAR. According to Altcoin Buzz's reading of that data, September was the biggest month on record at that point at $1.84 million, up from $723,262 in August and $504,864 in July.
On DefiLlama's definitions, revenue is NEAR's net captured revenue, measured as NEAR or wNEAR swept into its revenue wallets. The tracker showed NEAR Intents processing $3.869 billion in DEX volume over the 30 days to late October. That is broadly in line with the $3.9 billion volume figure for the month.
Activity has also grown steadily over the year. In early October, TokenPost reported that NEAR Intents had processed more than $4 billion over 30 days, with monthly volume up 896% from a year earlier.
October was not without incident. CoinGecko notes that NEAR Intents paused services on October 1, 2026 after an exploit of about $3.8 million linked to a bug in its Omni deposit and withdrawal infrastructure. The vulnerability was patched and the funds were returned in full on October 3.
The record revenue month suggests usage held up through that disruption, although the platform's figures reflect self-reported and on-chain activity and can differ between trackers depending on how fees and revenue are defined.
