@near_intents, the cross-chain swap system from @NEARProtocol, set a new monthly volume record in September 2026. According to data from MSB Intel, the platform processed roughly $4.8 billion in swaps, up about 73% from August. The previous record, set in November 2025, stood at $3.66 billion.
The gain has been accompanied by strong price action in $NEAR, which has performed well this year.
September volume in detail
Other trackers report similar figures. TokenPost put September swap volume at $4.76 billion, a 72.9% rise from August and the highest monthly total recorded for the system. CoinCodex, citing NullTX, reported $4.80 billion, with fees up 90.9% to $7.33 million over the same period. The small gap between the $4.76 billion and $4.80 billion figures reflects different data sources.
Activity peaked mid-month. Crypto Briefing reported that daily volume exceeded $300 million on September 18, and that cumulative volume passed $30 billion around the same time.
What NEAR Intents does, and what the data does not show
NEAR Intents is an intent-based system. Users state the outcome they want, and competing solvers fill the order across chains, without a traditional lock-and-mint bridge. Crypto Briefing says the platform supports swaps across more than 30 chains and over 100 assets.
Volume measures the value moving through swaps, not demand for the token. TokenPost notes that the figure does not show how much NEAR was purchased or whether the activity directly drove the token's price. It adds that captured revenue from the protocol has been used for open-market NEAR buybacks since February 23, 2026, which creates a potential link between usage and token demand. CoinCodex reports $1.84 million of September fees was allocated to buybacks.
