Nexo Swaps the Crypto Pitch for Charity at the 2026 Grand Prix Ball

It’s British Grand Prix week at Silverstone. You know the drill. Fast cars, massive crowds, and high-stakes glamour. But this year, crypto wealth platform Nexo is throwing its weight behind something much more grounded: helping sick kids.

Nexo just grabbed the title sponsorship for the 2026 Grand Prix Ball. They’ve rebranded the high-profile charity gala as the Nexo Grand Prix Ball. Organisers expect roughly 500 guests from the worlds of motorsport, business, and entertainment to pack the room. Formula One driver Kevin Magnussen will kick things off at a VIP reception. Pop star Pixie Lott will perform live. It’s going to be a massive night.

Here is the interesting part. Nexo isn’t using this glittering stage to pitch a new blockchain tool or push crypto loans. Instead, the company is tapping its deep sports connections to raise cash for the Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity. This UK-based group provides vital support and unforgettable experiences for children battling life-limiting illnesses.

How are they raising the money? Through an auction packed with serious sports perks.

Nexo already sponsors the Audi F1 Team, and they are bringing their professional golf ties to the table, too. One auction lot offers access to the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth. The winner gets to watch the Celebrity Pro-Am, which features F1’s Lando Norris, tennis icon Andy Murray, and former footballer Gareth Bale. Not a bad day out. Another package secures a spot at the Nexo Championship, a DP World Tour event running from August 21 to 23 at Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire.

Crypto loves sports. That is no secret. Even after the 2022 market crash cooled off the industry's wild spending, heavy hitters kept writing checks to Formula 1, football, and golf. Formula 1, in particular, draws exactly the wealthy, international crowd these financial tech firms want to reach.

Nexo certainly has the money to play in this arena. The company launched in 2018. Today, it manages roughly $7 billion in client assets and has processed a staggering $430 billion overall.

The Grand Prix Ball has been a staple of race week since 2011. But at the 2026 edition, the most important numbers won't be crypto prices flashing on a screen. They’ll be the final bids on the auction block, with every penny going straight to Rays of Sunshine.
