Meanwhile, Nokia expanded operator trials while strengthening its technology partnership with NVIDIA across several major markets.
Nokia said operators across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East are advancing AI-RAN testing. The projects now extend beyond early evaluations into laboratory programs and live field trials. Nokia combines its AI-native anyRAN software with NVIDIA’s Aerial RAN Computer for software-defined network operations. The system supports traditional mobile connectivity while allowing operators to run additional computing workloads across network infrastructure. Therefore, operators can use existing spectrum and network assets more efficiently without depending entirely on hardware upgrades.
Nokia said its AI-powered radio technology has improved spectral efficiency by more than 20% during testing. The company plans further software improvements throughout 2027 and 2028 as operators increase network capacity.
