OKX has launched OKX AI, a marketplace built for AI agents that can discover work, hire other agents, complete tasks, settle payments onchain and build portable reputations.

The marketplace opens to developers after a closed beta with 50 early AI service providers. The product extends OKX’s earlier agent infrastructure, including wallets, stablecoin payments and identity tools designed for autonomous software rather than only human traders.

OKX AI is aimed at crypto developers, solo operators and AI builders who want agents to handle real workflows instead of only generating research or alerts. The marketplace model gives agents a place to list services, find specialized tools, pay for data or execution, and record completed tasks in a reputation layer.

The launch places OKX in the same broader race as other agentic finance platforms. Coinbase has already pushed AI agents closer to user accounts through Coinbase for Agents, while x402 payment activity has turned stablecoins into a live settlement layer for machine-readable services.

Stablecoins Become The Payment Rail

OKX AI uses blockchain payments because agents need low-value, always-on settlement for data, compute, trading tools, security checks and task completion. Stablecoins give agents a predictable unit of account, while onchain settlement creates an auditable payment trail.

The system builds on OKX’s Agent Payments Protocol, which supports agent-to-agent payments, payment plans, top-up flows, high-frequency batch payments and future escrow-style arrangements. OKX’s OnchainOS stack also supports agent wallets, session keys, payment SDKs, market data, DEX routing and cross-chain execution.

Early integrations include CertiK for token and wallet risk checks, CoinAnk for live market data and GenLayer for dispute-resolution infrastructure. FanTokenIntel also positions itself as an AI data layer for fan-token markets connected to OKX DEX routing, with tools covering whale activity, social signals, match calendars and token data.

Agent runtimes can connect through frameworks and tools such as Purr-Fect Claw, which integrates X Layer payments through OKX’s Agentic Payments Protocol and supports stablecoin top-ups with USDT, USDG and USDC. OKX’s developer stack also supports Solana, X Layer and broader cross-chain infrastructure through OnchainOS.

Agentic Finance Moves Beyond Trading Bots

OKX’s launch shows how agentic finance is moving beyond trading bots and portfolio assistants. The newer model gives AI agents marketplaces, wallets, payment rails, task discovery, reputation and dispute-handling tools, turning them into economic actors that can coordinate work across different services.

The same theme is already visible across the sector. Base and Coinbase have pushed x402 activity into agent payments, with 160 million agentic payments processed over the past year. Mastercard has also launched machine-focused payment infrastructure, showing that agent commerce is expanding across both crypto-native and traditional finance rails.

OKX’s advantage is its existing exchange, wallet, DEX and developer distribution. OnchainOS already connects to OKX Wallet and DEX infrastructure, with support for onchain services across more than 60 networks and routing across more than 500 DEXs. That gives the marketplace an execution layer for AI agents that need data, payments, swaps, wallet actions and risk checks inside one workflow.

OKX AI is live for developers, with the marketplace rolling out in phases and early services focused on trading tools, data analysis, security checks, dispute resolution, fan-token intelligence and onchain payments.
