Ondo Finance, a blockchain investment platform, has launched three new portfolio tokens based on model portfolio strategies provided by BlackRock. The company introduced these products as part of an initiative to bring traditional investment approaches onto blockchain networks via tokenization, aiming to increase access and transparency for global investors.
New tokenized portfolios powered by BlackRock
The new products are Ondo High Income Powered by BlackRock (BLKHIon), Ondo Diversified Growth Powered by BlackRock (BLKDIGon), and Ondo High Growth Powered by BlackRock (BLKGRWon). Each token is designed to reflect a distinct investment strategy, offering options ranging from stable income to aggressive growth.
These tokens are based on BlackRock’s model portfolio frameworks, which define asset allocations by combining equities, fixed income, and digital assets such as Bitcoin through exchange-traded funds. BlackRock, known as the world’s largest asset management firm, has limited its involvement to providing these frameworks, without handling token issuance or management.
The launch brings the total number of tokenized model portfolios planned by Ondo to seven, with these three being the first to go live. Investors do not need to buy individual assets—instead, acquiring a single token grants them exposure to the complete portfolio.
Mini dictionary: Model portfolio framework, an investment strategy outline used by asset managers to allocate funds across various asset classes according to predefined risk and return objectives.
All allocations and portfolio changes are transparently recorded on the blockchain, allowing real-time public verification. The tokens can be transferred between digital wallets, supported exchanges, and decentralized finance platforms, enabling round-the-clock trading.

Access to these investment products is currently restricted to non-U.S. qualified investors in jurisdictions approved by Ondo Finance.
Ian De Bode, Acting CEO of Ondo Finance, explained that the products provide investors with a simplified mechanism for diversifying their holdings through a single digital asset. Lisa O’Connor, a representative from BlackRock, emphasized that the collaboration demonstrates how established financial methodologies can migrate to modern, blockchain-based infrastructures.
Ian De Bode described the innovation as a step toward giving investors streamlined access to multiple investment strategies without the need to manage separate assets, while Lisa O’Connor highlighted BlackRock’s intent to bring traditional portfolio structures into the digital era.
BlackRock’s involvement is limited to providing strategic guidance for portfolio composition. The firm does not take part in any technical or custodial functions related to the tokens themselves.
Market reaction and ongoing legal dispute
Following the product launch, ONDO token surged to $0.48. This marks a 16% jump in 24 hours and a 37% gain over seven days, defying a broader cryptocurrency market dip that saw Bitcoin fall to $83,000 during the same period.
The year-to-date appreciation of ONDO has now exceeded 33%, and trading volumes have risen in response to increased investor interest in tokenized investment strategies.
The announcement comes as Ondo faces continuing legal proceedings over company leadership. Kathleen Allman, mother of the late founder Nathan Allman, is seeking to regain control and has called for the removal of Acting CEO Ian De Bode, alleging that he assumed leadership without formal board approval. De Bode has described these claims as without merit.
Ondo’s broader tokenization initiatives
Ondo Finance has undertaken several projects in the tokenized asset space. In partnership with Near Protocol, the platform recently brought tokenized equities and ETFs including those linked to Tesla, Nvidia, Apple, and the QQQ to its users. Ondo Stocks reached $1 billion in total value locked within eight months of its introduction.
Earlier this year, Ondo transferred $95 million in OUSG holdings to BlackRock’s BUIDL fund, another example of the company’s growing interaction with established financial institutions.
Meanwhile, BlackRock has continued accelerating its tokenization strategy. In August, it unveiled two tokenized money market products tailored for stablecoin reserve management, signaling further expansion into digital asset infrastructure.
