OpenAI has begun the global rollout of its latest language model, GPT-6, making its new features available to ChatGPT users through multiple subscription tiers. Subscribers to the Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans are receiving access to a version called GPT-6 Sol. The company stated that free and Go users will receive a separate version, GPT-6 Luna, beginning October 8.
GPT-6 Sol and Luna: Pricing and Access
OpenAI emphasized that GPT-6 Sol is now available to paid users in the Chat tab of the ChatGPT interface, while organizations can control access through their workplace administration settings. For free users, GPT-6 Luna will become accessible in early October.
Both models are designed for day-to-day conversation, according to OpenAI. The new rollout does not impact the models used for ChatGPT’s Work and Codex features at this time. With more than 1.2 billion users engaging weekly, the company expects substantial adoption of the new AI models.
Developers have already received access to both GPT-6 Sol and Luna through OpenAI’s API offerings. On September 22, OpenAI decreased API prices for the two new models by at least 50% compared to their previous generations, reducing the financial barrier for developers and startups to experiment with the latest version.
GPT-6 Sol is priced at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. This marks a significant reduction compared to the $4 and $20 price points for GPT-5.6 Sol. For GPT-6 Luna, the cost stands at $0.10 per million input tokens and $0.50 per million output tokens, compared with the earlier $0.20 and $1.20 rates for GPT-5.6 Luna.
OpenAI also introduced Dots agents running on the GPT-6 Astra model, which launched on September 29. The company confirmed that GPT-6 incorporates several safety advancements initiated with Astra.
GPT-6 Sol now costs $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, a marked decrease from previous models, whereas Luna is set at $0.10 and $0.50 respectively for input and output tokens.
A key innovation in GPT-6 is the Intelligent UI feature, which enables answers containing graphics, interactive forms, charts, buttons, and other dynamic elements—shaped according to each user’s query. Compared answers can now be displayed side-by-side, while complex explanations might appear as interactive diagrams. Simpler questions remain answered in plain text.
Users can instruct GPT-6 to build customized tools in real time within a chat session. Demonstrated tools include a savings calculator, bill splitter, and even simple games. OpenAI has engineered a library of streamable user interface components and a compiler that processes these elements as the model generates them, allowing responses to appear incrementally rather than waiting for completion.
This approach lets GPT-6 start responding sooner. For web search queries, GPT-6 Instant initiates responses 44% faster on average compared to GPT-5.6 Instant. Google introduced a similar capability, Neural Expressive, for its Gemini chatbot in May.
Internal testing revealed that GPT-6 more frequently identifies and addresses the core aspect of challenging queries versus its predecessor. The Extra High setting of GPT-6 delivers responses as quickly as the Medium setting in GPT-5.6 for common agentic tasks, and it ranks higher in overall performance.
In performance testing, GPT-6 more often pinpointed the essential elements of difficult questions than GPT-5.6, with faster response times in practical scenarios.
Enhanced Safety and Market Context
OpenAI reported increased safety training for GPT-6, specifically targeting misuse involving cyber threats, biological dangers, and violent content. The company cited improved resistance to multi-step attacks that attempt to bypass safeguards, following comprehensive adversarial testing.
As market participants track ongoing technical developments such as interface enhancements and response speed, a similar need to monitor the rapidly evolving meme token sector has emerged. In the meme token market, an internet trend can transform into millions of dollars of interest within days. According to data shared by Fomo App, a trade involving “Niu Lai”—which turned an initial $99 investment into approximately $370,000, stands out as a striking example of this activity. In this market, tracking not only prices but also the timing and token choices of investors is crucial. Fomo App brings token discovery and trading together on a single platform, featuring social feeds, investor rankings, and trade notifications. With the staged release of GPT-6 Sol and Luna, OpenAI is expanding user access while aiming to balance innovation, safety, and operational costs across its platforms.
