OpenPay Says Its Side Is Done
@OpenPayTeam has pushed back against community scepticism by stating it has fulfilled its obligations under Pi Network's onboarding process. According to the project, its Know Your Business (KYB) application has been submitted, Pi Authentication is implemented, and Pi Payments are live. What remains, the team says, is formal approval from @PiCoreTeam for a mainnet listing.
The statement shifts responsibility squarely onto Pi Network's core team. As of publication, @PiCoreTeam has not publicly responded to OpenPay's claims, and OpenPay does not appear on Pi Network's official KYB-verified business list.
Why the KYB List Matters for Pioneers
Pi Network requires KYB verification for businesses seeking access to the Pi Mainnet, Mainnet Nodes, or other Mainnet-related services. Only KYB-verified businesses are eligible to hold individual non-custodial Mainnet Pi Wallets, an added layer of verification that reduces the risk of unauthorised activity and builds trust among Pioneers.
Pi Network's own guidance tells Pioneers to refrain from using any third-party services, including exchanges, that claim integration with Pi but are not listed on the official KYB services page, warning that doing so runs the risk of scams or fraud.
OpenPay submitted applications for both KYB verification and the Pi Network Ventures program in July 2026 , signalling its intent to build compliant payment infrastructure within the ecosystem. The platform has also ranked among the top six Pi ecosystem apps based on active Pi staking activity, a milestone that has drawn attention to the growing user participation in Pi-based applications.
Until @PiCoreTeam either approves or declines the application and updates the official KYB list, OpenPay's status inside the Pi ecosystem remains unresolved. Pioneers considering the platform should cross-reference the official verified list before transacting.
