@PancakeSwap burned 365,000 $CAKE, worth about $690,000, over the past week, a 27% increase on the previous period. Burns outpaced new token issuance, leaving a net 214,000 CAKE removed from supply.
CAKE traded at $1.87, up 1.4% over the last 24 hours. Total supply stands at about 340 million tokens, against a supply cap of 400 million.
V2 and V3 Pools Drive Most of the Burn
PancakeSwap's older trading pools accounted for the bulk of the weekly reduction. The v2 pools burned 154,000 CAKE and the v3 pools burned 171,000 CAKE. The newer Infinity pools contributed 10,700 CAKE.
The split is consistent with recent weeks. Weekly burn reports published by the exchange and relayed by Cryptowisser showed a burn of 287,000 CAKE ($597,000) in the week reported on October 27, 2026. Infinity pools accounted for 22,300 CAKE in that period, still a small share of the total.
Burn volumes can swing sharply from week to week. Cryptowisser reported a burn of 762,000 CAKE ($1.32 million) in August, against 580,000 CAKE ($1.04 million) a week later, according to its weekly burn coverage.
Supply Cap and Tokenomics Context
PancakeSwap lowered CAKE's maximum supply from 450 million to 400 million in January 2026. MEXC News reported that the vote drew more than 1.66 million votes in favor and none against. The same report said CAKE's total supply fell by a net 8.19% in 2025, from 380 million to about 350 million.
The burn mechanism stems from CAKE Tokenomics 3.0, introduced in April 2025. According to Crypto Briefing, it cut daily CAKE emissions by roughly 44%, from about 40,000 tokens to around 22,500, and set a target of about 4% yearly deflation funded by buybacks from protocol revenue.
Crypto Briefing also reported a discussion-stage proposal that would give liquidity providers 88% of v3 and Infinity fees while leaving the v2 burn intact. It noted that a shift of trading volume toward v3 and Infinity could change how quickly CAKE supply shrinks. The proposal has not been approved.
Burns permanently reduce supply, but they do not guarantee a higher price. CAKE's market value will still depend on trading activity, broader market conditions and demand for the token.
