Paxos, a leading regulated blockchain infrastructure provider, has integrated Avalanche into its financial platform, making AVAX and Avalanche-native USDC available for institutional trading and custody. The move is designed to streamline blockchain access for financial institutions and payment firms seeking exposure to Avalanche-based assets.

Paxos expands Avalanche connectivity for institutions

The integration enables direct support for AVAX, Avalanche’s native token, as well as USDC issued on the Avalanche network. Both assets are now listed in Paxos documentation for trading and custodial services. For large financial organizations, the new connection eliminates the need to set up separate blockchain integrations, as Paxos provides established compliance, custody, and settlement infrastructure.

Paxos’ solution focuses on offering white-label blockchain-based services to banks, asset managers, and payment providers. This approach gives institutional clients the ability to interact with various digital assets and networks through a single platform, reducing technical and operational barriers when expanding their cryptocurrency offerings.

Paxos serves more than 650 institutions worldwide, providing blockchain-based solutions for companies seeking regulated access to digital assets like AVAX and USDC on Avalanche’s network.

This integration could encourage more traditional finance firms to experiment with digital asset products on Avalanche, utilizing AVAX for supported transactions and native USDC for settlements.

Avalanche’s institutional reach grows

Avalanche, an open-source smart contracts platform created by Ava Labs, has worked to attract stablecoin projects and institutional interest. USDC, a widely-used dollar-pegged stablecoin developed by Circle, has already been supported natively on Avalanche. The network also enables Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol, which streamlines native USDC transfers between supported blockchains.

While USDC was previously available to Avalanche users, Paxos’ addition brings regulated institutional access at scale. The company reports it serves over 650 institutions and 470 million end users across 150 countries, managing more than $18 billion in assets under custody.

The announcement marks a step toward increasing Avalanche usage in regulated finance, further connecting the smart contract ecosystem to major markets.

AVAX price and upcoming developments

As of September 17, AVAX was trading at roughly $7.62, representing a daily increase of 5.18% and a seven-day growth of 0.97%, according to CoinMarketCap data.

While AVAX’s recent price movement shows a short-term gain, market analysts note that several factors could be contributing to volatility, including the upcoming Helicon network upgrade scheduled for September 22. The upgrade will introduce Continuous Execution and alter staking economics, signaling further changes in the ecosystem that could impact asset demand.

The addition of Avalanche to Paxos’ platform provides institutions with more ways to interact with AVAX and facilitates seamless settlement in USDC across new blockchain infrastructure.

Analysts caution that rising prices may not be entirely due to the integration, as broader market trends and upcoming network upgrades can impact price dynamics.
