Infrastructure provider Crusoe has finalized a long-term cloud partnership with AI-powered search platform Perplexity AI. Through this arrangement, Perplexity gains access to Nvidia’s GB300 processors for both training and inference operations of its artificial intelligence systems.

Beyond providing the computing resources, Crusoe will handle all hardware maintenance and operational oversight throughout the equipment’s lifecycle. The collaboration extends both ways, as Crusoe is deploying Perplexity’s Enterprise Max solution across its workforce of over 1,800 employees.
Neither company revealed the monetary value of this agreement.
Perplexity AI explicitly sought access to Nvidia’s latest-generation GB300 processors as part of this collaboration. While Perplexity currently utilizes computing resources from Amazon Web Services and other major cloud vendors, the company indicated that Crusoe enables it to obtain the specific Nvidia technology it requires.
Crusoe’s infrastructure also incorporates Advanced Micro Devices processors, providing clients with alternative hardware choices. This diversification is significant in an industry where most AI-focused cloud vendors concentrate primarily on Nvidia-based solutions.
Crusoe has established its reputation through constructing massive data facilities, including the Stargate project for OpenAI located in Abilene, Texas. The firm has been rapidly expanding its cloud services division, which directly competes with companies like CoreWeave and Nebius by leasing AI processors and accompanying software to enterprise clients.
This expansion accelerated significantly when Crusoe secured an approximately $13 billion cloud services contract with Jane Street earlier this month. While the Perplexity partnership doesn’t have a disclosed valuation for comparison, it brings another prominent artificial intelligence company into Crusoe’s client portfolio.
Crusoe’s expansion strategy positions the company as a competitor to established giants including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, alongside emerging challengers like CoreWeave.
However, not every Crusoe infrastructure initiative has proceeded without obstacles. OpenAI and Oracle both declined to lease expanded capacity at the Abilene facility, though Microsoft subsequently committed to utilizing that space. Additionally, Crusoe was removed from a Wyoming data center initiative that was being developed for Google.
Despite these setbacks, the persistent demand for premium AI processors continues fueling business growth. The Perplexity partnership demonstrates that obtaining scarce Nvidia hardware remains a critical consideration for AI companies selecting cloud infrastructure providers.
From a public market investment perspective, Nvidia emerges as the primary beneficiary of sustained AI computing demand. AMD continues working to capture market share in these same computational workloads.
CoreWeave and established cloud platforms now confront additional competition as Crusoe expands its processor leasing operations.
Without disclosed financial terms for the Perplexity agreement, assessing its economic significance relative to the Jane Street contract remains challenging.
