Veteran trader Peter Brandt (@PeterLBrandt) returned to X on Sept. 26 with a fresh look at $XRP's long-term price chart, telling followers that the technical picture alone has been sufficient reason to consider a position in the token. The comments came without a confirmed trade or a specific price target or timeline attached.
A Decade of Narrowing Ranges
The Sept. 26 chart spans more than a decade of XRP price history and marks two extended periods during which the token traded within increasingly tight ranges before breaking out. At the time of the post, XRP was trading near $1.52 and was up roughly 5% on the week.
The latest chart follows Brandt's earlier long-term analysis published on Sept. 21, in which he projected an eventual advance toward $5.40, a level that would represent a gain of more than 250% from prices around $1.54. That analysis used monthly XRP/USDT candles and drew on trend channels and moving averages built across multiple market cycles. Brandt did not attach a timeframe to the target.
A Chart Is Not a Trade
Brandt has been careful to separate his chart observations from trading commitments. In his Sept. 21 post, he stated plainly that publishing a chart or making a public price call does not constitute evidence of an actual trade, warning that unsupported claims of that kind amount to little more than noise. A prior analysis from 2024 saw him praise XRP's technical setup while confirming he held no position in the token at that time.
The broader XRP technical picture remains mixed. The token has recovered from its summer lows but still trades below its 18-month moving average near $1.88, a level that analysts view as an important structural hurdle before any sustained move higher can develop.
Brandt, who entered commodity trading in 1976 and founded Factor Trading in 1980, bases his analysis on classical charting methods rather than fundamentals or on-chain data. His continued attention to XRP's multi-year structure will likely keep the token in focus among technically oriented traders, even without a formal trade announcement.
