Pi Network (@PiCoreTeam) will hold its first Pi Ecosystem Summit, a three-day online event, from November 17 to 19. Unlike Pi Day, the event will focus on developers and the apps and tools they build on Pi.

According to the project's official announcement, the summit will cover Pi's developer platform, ecosystem building and utility creation. It is aimed at developers as well as Pioneers, the name Pi Network uses for its users.

What the summit will cover

The program includes new platform and feature announcements, developer tool demos, partner and community app showcases, and conversations with developers. It also includes details of an all-new hackathon, with further information to be shared during the event, the project said.

Pi Network said Pi Day and Pi2Day celebrate progress across the wider Pioneer community and network. The Ecosystem Summit, by contrast, places a dedicated focus on developers, the tools that support their work and the applications they build.

The project also used the announcement to pitch the platform to builders. It said developers can reach more than 60 million Engaged Pioneers, with infrastructure for app discovery, user authentication and Pi payments. It put the ecosystem at over 300 Mainnet apps, more than 420,000 nodes and over 18.1 million fully KYC-verified users.

Context and market reaction

Those figures are the project's own. Crypto.news reported that the statement did not provide a directory of all counted apps, usage by app, paying users or transaction value attributable to them.

Pi Network has run a developer contest before. Its first hackathon after the Open Network launch, Pi Hackathon 2025, offered up to 160,000 Pi in total prizes. According to the project's 2025 year-end review, three winners and five honorable mentions were chosen from over 215 completed Mainnet apps submitted.

On the market side, FXStreet reported that PI was hovering above $0.0800 on Friday after a rebound of nearly 2% the previous day. FXStreet described the technical outlook as bearish, with a risk of breaking below last week's low of $0.0774.

Whether the summit translates into usage will depend on what the Pi Core Team ships and which apps gain users after the event. The dates and agenda are confirmed, but the hackathon's prizes and rules have not yet been published.
