Pi Network (@PiCoreTeam) $PI will host its Ecosystem Summit from November 17 to 19, with developers at the centre of the agenda. The event will cover developer tools, app showcases, platform updates and a new hackathon.

Developers will also discuss their projects with the Pi Core Team.

What the summit will cover

According to Pi Network's own announcement, the three-day online event is focused on Pi's developer platform, ecosystem building and utility creation. The programme includes platform and feature announcements, developer tool demos, app showcases from partners and community developers, and conversations between developers and the Pi Core Team.

The hackathon will give developers a new opportunity to build applications on Pi. Pi Network said further details will be shared during the summit.

The summit is the first of its kind. Pi Network has said Pi Day and Pi2Day celebrate progress across the broader Pioneer community and network, while the new event concentrates on developers and the apps they build. TokenPost reported that a detailed schedule and viewing information are expected closer to the event.

Ecosystem figures put under scrutiny

Pi Network says its ecosystem includes more than 300 Mainnet applications and over 60 million engaged Pioneers. Its infrastructure also includes more than 420,000 Nodes and 18.1 million fully KYC verified users.

Those figures are self-reported and measure different things. Engaged Pioneers is the broadest audience claimed, verified users are people who passed KYC, and Mainnet apps are software associated with the live network. The project has not supplied an app-by-app active user count, and none of the numbers show repeat use of an app or the value of goods and services paid for with PI.

For developers, the key question is which tools ship at the summit and whether they translate into apps that people actually use.
