The initial testnet token, $IRRA, generated substantial community participation, with 478,000 Pioneers staking a combined 36.05 million Test-Pi. That scale provided the team with a meaningful data set to work from. The $SLICE deployment addresses specific friction points identified in that first round, particularly around the interaction between staking and committing steps, which saw measurable user drop-off before completion.
The core objective is straightforward: reduce the number of Pioneers who begin the participation process but do not follow through. By simplifying the flow between the two key actions, the team aims to improve completion rates before any live mainnet launch.
Because the Launchpad introduces new concepts for many Pioneers and uses mechanisms that differ from typical token launches in Web3, it is being introduced on Testnet first so the community can become familiar with the process before a mainnet rollout. The $SLICE launch is strictly a technical test designed to refine the platform, and the test tokens will never be released on the mainnet ecosystem.
