Large PI Holders Close In on 10,000 Milestone
On-chain data from PiScan, the primary blockchain explorer for Pi Network, shows that @PiCoreTeam pioneers holding at least 1 million $PI are closing in on the 10,000-account mark. According to the latest distribution statistics, 9,961 accounts currently sit in the 1 million to 10 million PI bracket, with just 21 accounts holding more than 10 million PI each.
The figures highlight a steep concentration at the top end of the network. Further down the distribution, 353,340 wallets hold between 1,000 and 10,000 PI, and another 1,503,374 accounts sit in the 100 to 1,000 PI bracket. At the other end of the spectrum, the picture is even more striking: the largest cohort by far consists of small holders, with around 80% of all pioneers (more than 14.5 million users) possessing fewer than 10 coins each.
Supply Dynamics Add Context to Distribution Data
The holder breakdown comes at a time when $PI faces a meaningful supply overhang. Around 1.21 billion PI is expected to unlock during the second half of 2026, averaging nearly 6.5 million PI entering circulation every day. Token unlocks do not automatically mean immediate selling, as some users may continue holding, locking, or using PI within the ecosystem, but the pace of new supply has kept pressure on the token's price.
The primary tool for monitoring token distribution is the official Pi Blockexplorer (PiScan), which provides direct transparency into transaction histories, total migrated balances, and active system contract allocations. The data reinforces a long-standing tension within the project: a large and engaged pioneer base, but one where the overwhelming majority of participants hold very small balances, limiting their ability to participate meaningfully in staking or other utility-driven features of the network.
The concentration of significant holdings among a small number of accounts is likely to remain a talking point for the community as $PI navigates its supply schedule for the remainder of 2026.
