The stablecoin market capitalisation on @plumenetwork has risen 111% over the past week, a sharp increase that points to growing liquidity and usage on the blockchain. The move comes as activity tied to real-world assets (RWAs) and decentralised finance (DeFi) appears to be shifting towards the network.

What the Increase Suggests

A rising stablecoin supply on a chain typically reflects more capital being brought in to trade, lend or settle transactions. For Plume, a larger pool of stable assets would mean more liquidity for the developers and protocols building on the platform, provided the trend continues.

The scale of the percentage gain should be read in context. Plume's stablecoin base has been relatively small. RWA.xyz lists a stablecoin market cap of about $9.04 million on the network, with roughly 121,430 stablecoin holders and 30-day stablecoin transfer volume of around $267 million. Because the starting base is modest, a large percentage change can result from a comparatively small amount of new capital. Data providers also report different figures at different times, so readers should check live dashboards for current numbers.

Plume's Role in RWA Finance

Plume describes itself as a Layer 1 blockchain built for real-world asset finance (RWAfi). According to Messari, the network is EVM-compatible and allows tokenised assets such as credit, commodities and ETFs to be used across DeFi for staking, lending and trading. Messari notes that its mainnet, Plume Genesis, launched in June 2025.

The network also has its own dollar-pegged token. CoinGecko says Plume USD (pUSD) is a fully backed stablecoin tied 1:1 to the US dollar and backed by USDC deposited into a BoringVault. It can be used for payments, trading and as collateral across applications in the Plume ecosystem. In 2025, Plume partnered with World Liberty Financial to make USD1 the official reserve asset for pUSD, The Defiant reported.

If the latest growth holds, it would add depth to the on-chain liquidity available for RWA and DeFi applications on Plume. Whether the increase proves durable will depend on whether new deposits stay on the network and are actively used.
