  • Polkadot price trades near $0.84 after falling below its 50-day EMA.
  • DOT now has a hard supply cap of 2.1 billion tokens.
  • More than 900 million DOT has moved into staking.

The Polkadot price remains under pressure despite several recent network developments. DOT reached about $1.02 on August 22 before falling toward $0.84. The decline comes while Polkadot has reduced issuance and introduced a hard 2.1 billion DOT supply cap.

The network also has Agile Coretime live, while JAM remains part of its longer-term roadmap. These changes have strengthened Polkadot’s underlying development activity, but the Polkadot price has not followed the same path.

Polkadot Price Lags While Network Fundamentals Keep Changing

Crypto analyst Lucky said DOT has become one of the weaker major altcoins during the latest rally. Several large altcoins gained more than 20% within days, while DOT struggled to attract similar demand.

The Polkadot price faces this weakness despite a major change in token supply. Polkadot now has a maximum supply of 2.1 billion DOT. The network also reduced issuance during 2026.

Agile Coretime adds another network development. It gives projects a flexible way to obtain Polkadot blockspace. JAM also remains part of the network’s longer-term technology plans.

More than 900 million DOT has moved into staking, according to the supplied data. The average staking reward stands near 2.8%, placing the network closer to the 1 billion DOT milestone.

Polkadot Price Tests Support After ETF Progress

The Polkadot price now trades below its 50-day EMA, while $0.71 represents the next major support level in the current setup. A recovery above the moving average would put higher levels back into focus.

Polkadot has also gained fresh exposure through the 21Shares Polkadot Staking ETF. DTCC listed the product under ticker TDOT on August 27 after the fund changed its name.

The fund holds DOT and stakes between 40% and 95% through network validators. Its stated staking yield sits near 2.04%, while the fee stands at 0.30%.

The Polkadot price also faces mixed ecosystem signals. Kraken plans to delist Hydration’s HDX on September 11, while Hydration has challenged the decision.

For now, DOT combines lower issuance, a fixed supply cap, rising staking, and new ETF infrastructure with weak price momentum. The Polkadot price must regain buying demand before those developments translate into stronger market performance.
