Fold Holdings (Nasdaq: FLD) is a Bitcoin (BTC) -focused fintech firm that offers innovative products like Fold App, Fold Credit Card, Fold Bitcoin Gift Card, and Fold Debit Card.
The company announced on June 10 that it liquidated approximately $45 million in Bitcoin at around $71,000 apiece.

It then used $20 million from the proceeds of the sale to repay Bitcoin-collateralized debt and allocated the remaining $25 million to growth initiatives across the business.
Following these transactions, Fold said it eliminated all secured debt, strengthened liquidity, maintained a meaningful Bitcoin treasury position, improved monthly net cash flows, and increased its capacity to support future growth and financing initiatives.
The company said the strengthened balance sheet is expected to accelerate the growth of the Bitcoin Credit Card. Increased liquidity and financing flexibility allow the company to support a larger cardholder base, pursue additional capital raises, and participate more meaningfully in the card program, the company said.
The purpose of the transactions is to eliminate secured debt obligations, improve cashflows, and allow the company to materially scale its consumer and enterprise platforms, it said.
Fold said that though it continues to maintain a meaningful Bitcoin treasury position, it has the flexibility to monetize additional holdings if it translates into the highest investment return for shareholders.
