A post from crypto pundit BarriC (@B_arri_C) is drawing attention across the XRP community. BarriC laid out a simple comparison. XRP ran from $0.006 to $3 between 2017 and 2018. He then applied that same scale to XRP’s current price. A “similar price rise for $XRP right now would be approximately $1.38 – $750,” he wrote.
The math is proportional. The 2017/18 move represented a roughly 500x increase from XRP’s price at the time. Applied to the current price of approximately $1.38, that same multiplier produces a target near $750. BarriC presents this as a structural observation rather than a guarantee.
The 2017 Rally In Context
XRP’s 2017/18 run remains one of the most significant price events in the asset’s history. The move from fractions of a cent to $3 happened rapidly, driven by retail speculation and a surge in crypto market activity. Multiple analysts have noted that XRP spent an extended period consolidating before that rally began.
Analyst ChartNerd previously compared XRP’s 2016/17 structure and its setup heading into 2026, pointing to over 13 months of consolidation that mirrors the pre-rally compression seen before the 2017 breakout.
Responses to BarriC’s post were mixed. One commenter pushed back directly, writing “the market structure is way different now, tbh I think we see a grind not a moonshot.” Another set his own exit point, stating, “13 to $27, I am done gone goodbye.”
One commenter pointed to geopolitics, noting “it depends on what the US-Iran feels like doing.” Another agreed with BarriC, stating that a 500x surge is coming.
Where XRP Stands Today
XRP has pulled back significantly from its recent highs. The asset retreated from highs around $3.65 and recorded multiple monthly declines.
That sustained pressure has kept sentiment cautious across much of the market. One analyst has described XRP’s current position as sitting within the “green area” of its long-term weekly uptrend line, arguing the price level is historically low, similar to conditions seen before major breakouts in prior cycles.
The $750 Target and Its Challenges
The $750 figure carries significant mathematical weight. Reaching that level would require more than a 500x increase from current prices and would push XRP’s market cap beyond Bitcoin. Most professional analysts consider that scale unrealistic within a single cycle.
Jake Claver issued a similar $750 target earlier this year, citing Ripple president Monica Long’s comments about full-scale institutional adoption in 2026. That prediction met widespread skepticism given the market cap requirements involved.
