Oracle services from @PythNetwork now secure about $3.124 billion in assets, according to DefiLlama data. The figure puts the $PYTH oracle network above the $3 billion mark in total value secured (TVS), a metric used to gauge how much value depends on an oracle working correctly.

Solana Holds Most of the Value

The bulk of the total, $1.928 billion, sits on the @Solana blockchain. Pyth has deep roots there: its price data is aggregated on Pythnet, an application-specific blockchain built on Solana codebase, before being delivered to other networks.

Pyth also has a presence on other chains. On @SuiNetwork ($SUI), the oracle secures $383.08 million. On @NEARProtocol ($NEAR), the figure is $57.99 million, based on the DefiLlama data cited in the original figures. Pyth's own developer documentation, however, states that Pyth Core no longer supports Aptos, CosmWasm, Fuel, IOTA, NEAR, Stacks, Starknet, or TON, so readers should treat the NEAR number with some caution.

Pyth launched on Sui in 2023. At the time, the project said developers on Sui can access Pyth's 200+ price feeds for equities, commodities, foreign exchange pairs, and digital assets.

How to Read the TVS Figure

DefiLlama defines TVS as the total value secured by an oracle, where oracle failure would lead to a loss equal to TVS. It is not the same as total value locked, and DefiLlama's own Pyth page lists TVL at zero because the oracle does not hold user funds.

The number also moves. A live DefiLlama table cited by CryptoSlate in August mapped Pyth to 316 protocols and about $2.7 billion in total value secured, and the outlet noted that the selected view includes borrowed values and settings that can count the same exposure more than once. The latest reading of around $3.1 billion therefore reflects a rise from that level, though the methodology means it is best seen as a proxy rather than a precise measure of assets at risk.

Pyth's TVS has been higher in the past. Messari reported that in the first quarter of 2024, total value secured rose 322% to $7.2 billion, though that figure included Ethena, which DefiLlama data did not cover at the time.
