@QuantNetwork's $QNT token is back in the spotlight, and the attention is tied to bank infrastructure as much as to price action.

The Clearing House picks Quant for On-Chain Money

On September 24, 2026, The Clearing House announced that it had selected Quant to power its On-Chain Money Initiative. The initiative is a new interoperable payments network that will let financial institutions of all sizes clear and settle tokenized deposit transactions.

The Clearing House is a bank-owned payments operator that runs core US payment systems. According to CryptoTicker, these include RTP for real-time payments and CHIPS for settling large payment volumes between banks. TheStreet reported that the company clears and settles more than $2 trillion daily across wire, ACH and real-time payment networks.

Quant's role is to supply the interoperability, orchestration and transaction management layer for the network, while connecting it with existing payment systems including RTP and CHIPS, crypto.news reported. PYMNTS reported that The Clearing House expects to make the network available to participating institutions in the first half of 2027.

UK banks already use Quant technology

The US selection followed a separate milestone in the UK. According to Altcoin Buzz, Barclays, HSBC UK, Lloyds Banking Group, Monzo, Nationwide, NatWest and Santander completed the first live customer transactions using tokenized sterling deposits through the Great British Tokenised Deposit (GBTD) initiative. BeInCrypto reported that the pilots ran on a shared platform Quant developed for the GBTD project.

Price moves and what is still unclear

QNT has been volatile since the announcement. TheStreet reported that the token rose from around $67 on September 21 to a high of $340 on September 28, a gain of more than 400% in seven days, before pulling back. CoinMarketCap's AI-generated market commentary later described a roughly 9% drop as a pullback after a leveraged rally, which it said was not linked to negative news about Quant.

Analysts also caution against reading the deal as direct demand for the token. Blockonomi reported that neither company says banks must buy, hold or pay fees in QNT. Seeking Alpha, via TradingView, noted that the announcement did not disclose financial terms or specify how network adoption would translate into demand for the token.

For now, the deal gives Quant a visible role in a US bank-backed tokenized deposit network. How much that matters for $QNT holders depends on details that have not yet been made public.
