@C2FO and @Ripple have partnered to bring financing and settlement activity for the new C2FO Instant Pay product onto the @XRP Ledger, using the $RLUSD stablecoin. The aim is to cut the time suppliers wait for cash from days to seconds.

How C2FO Instant Pay on the XRP Ledger works

Across global supply chains, businesses can wait 30, 60 or even 90 days after delivering goods and services to be paid. Even when an invoice is paid early, they can still wait several days for funds to move through legacy bank settlement infrastructure.

C2FO Instant Pay targets that second delay. It enables businesses to receive payments instantly, using XRPL and RLUSD, Ripple's U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin, for settlement. The announcement was made at Ripple's Swell 2026 event.

The invoice terms themselves do not change. Instant payment is funded by participating capital providers and settled on the XRP Ledger, letting suppliers receive funds in seconds rather than days, against invoices whose terms and due dates stay exactly as agreed. Businesses will continue to access early payment through C2FO as they do today.

C2FO is not new to early payment. Its Early Pay programs have helped businesses access more than 250 billion in working capital through the accelerated payment of approved invoices.

BNY's role and the RLUSD backdrop

@BNYglobal is also part of the picture. BNY has served as the primary reserve custodian for RLUSD since July 9, 2025, which means the bank holds the assets that back the stablecoin. The relationship has since widened. BNY clients will be able to mint and redeem RLUSD directly, and the two firms plan to explore blockchain use cases in tokenized trade finance built on the XRP Ledger.

That custody framework matters for institutional trade finance, where regulated safekeeping of assets is typically a requirement. RLUSD is one of the few global stablecoins issued under a New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) Trust Company Charter. RLUSD has since grown to a market capitalization of approximately $2.5 billion.

The C2FO tie-up also fits a wider push by Ripple to give RLUSD a role in real-world financing on the XRPL. Earlier this month, Ripple partnered with the Swiss platform Arf to offer short-term financing in RLUSD to licensed payment companies on the XRP Ledger.

If the model scales, suppliers could be paid in seconds rather than waiting months for invoice proceeds, with settlement continuing to take place on-chain. The companies have not yet detailed volumes or a rollout timeline in the sources reviewed.
