Fourth Consecutive Year on the CNBC Fintech List
Ripple has been named to CNBC and Statista's World's Top Fintech Companies 2026 list for the fourth year running, a recognition that tracks the company's shift from a specialist in cross-border payments to a broader infrastructure provider for banks, fintechs, and large enterprises working with digital assets.
The annual list, produced in partnership with market research firm Statista, selected 500 companies across eight industry segments. Digital assets accounted for 40 of those slots, representing 8% of the total, as CNBC noted that blockchain is increasingly being used in real-world business cases by financial firms for payments, custody, tokenization, compliance, and liquidity management.
Ripple marked the milestone by crediting its customers and partners, saying the recognition reflects years of building relationships and maintaining momentum through multiple market cycles rather than chasing short-term trends.
CEO Brad Garlinghouse has pointed to the roughly $16 trillion processed annually through correspondent banking as a core opportunity, an area Ripple has long targeted with blockchain-based cross-border payment technology using $XRP.
MiCA Authorization Adds Regulatory Weight in Europe
The listing comes weeks after Ripple secured a significant regulatory win in Europe. On July 6, 2026, Luxembourg's Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) granted Ripple full authorization as a Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation, clearing it to offer regulated crypto payments, custody, and related services across all 30 European Economic Area countries.
The CASP license builds on an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license Ripple obtained from the same regulator in February, giving the company a dual-license stack that covers the full payment cycle, from collection and exchange to payout, through a single integration for European institutions.
Combined with its existing global regulatory footprint of more than 75 licenses, the MiCA approval places Ripple among a small group of digital asset firms that met the EU's full compliance bar before the July 1, 2026 transitional deadline, after which unlicensed crypto firms were required to wind down services to EU clients.
