  • Ripple funded a $250,000 RLUSD grant program, in partnership with Hire Heroes USA, supporting 25 veteran-owned businesses.
  • Each recipient receives a $10,000 grant, employer training, and business resources designed to expand veteran hiring and business growth.
  • The initiative broadens RLUSD’s real-world use while reinforcing Ripple’s wider social impact strategy through regulated blockchain-based funding.

Ripple has expanded the role of its RLUSD stablecoin by funding a $250,000 grant program for veteran-owned businesses across the United States. The initiative demonstrates another practical use case for the regulated stablecoin beyond payments and tokenized finance.

Hire Heroes USA announced the first 25 businesses selected under the nationwide program. Each business will receive a $10,000 grant funded by Ripple through RLUSD. Additionally, recipients will gain access to employer training and operational resources designed to support long-term growth.

The nonprofit said the initiative aims to strengthen veteran-owned businesses while creating more employment opportunities for military veterans and their spouses. As a result, the program combines financial assistance with workforce development instead of offering grants alone.

RLUSD Supports Business Growth Through Community Programs

Recipients will participate in Hire Heroes USA’s Certified Veteran Employer training program. They will also receive hiring resources and guidance to help expand their businesses over the next 12 to 18 months.

Jonathan Perri, Ripple’s Director of Social Impact, said veteran and military spouse-owned businesses play an important role in driving innovation and creating jobs. He added that Ripple’s partnership with Hire Heroes USA seeks to strengthen those businesses while supporting the broader military community.

To qualify, businesses must operate within the United States and be at least 51% owned by a military veteran or military spouse. Applicants must also demonstrate plans to hire veterans or military spouses as their businesses grow.

Moreover, the initiative reflects Ripple’s broader effort to use RLUSD beyond enterprise payment solutions. The company is increasingly integrating the regulated stablecoin into charitable programs that deliver measurable community benefits.

Ripple launched RLUSD as an enterprise-grade stablecoin for cross-border payments and tokenized finance. However, the company has gradually expanded its applications into philanthropic initiatives that leverage blockchain technology for social impact.

Ripple Builds on Broader Philanthropic Strategy

The latest grants add to Ripple’s long-standing global philanthropy efforts. The company has contributed more than $250 million to universities, nonprofit organizations, and social enterprises operating across more than 80 countries.

Last year, Ripple pledged $25 million, primarily in RLUSD, to DonorsChoose and Teach For America. The company described the initiative as one of the first large-scale philanthropic programs funded through a stablecoin.

In addition to supporting education initiatives, Ripple has partnered with organizations including Mercy Corps Ventures, Water.org, the International Rescue Committee, and Accion Opportunity Fund. Those collaborations reflect the company’s strategy of combining blockchain technology with programs that address economic and social challenges.

Conclusion

The veteran business grant program marks another step in Ripple’s effort to expand RLUSD beyond financial transactions. By combining regulated digital assets with workforce development and community investment, Ripple is demonstrating additional real-world applications for its stablecoin while supporting veteran entrepreneurs across the United States.
