Brad Garlinghouse, CEO of the fintech firm Ripple, announced the debut of a new 24/7 Treasury service designed to help corporate clients optimize the use of their idle cash at any time, including outside normal banking hours. The announcement came during his keynote speech at the Ripple Swell conference held in New York, marking the tenth edition of the event.
24/7 Returns by Ripple Treasury
Garlinghouse stated that the new solution, titled 24/7 Returns by Ripple Treasury, enables companies to move and deploy funds around the clock. This initiative reflects a growing demand among enterprises to access liquidity and investment tools without being limited by traditional banking hours or delays.
Ripple is moving forward in Treasury management, bringing near-instant settlement to global businesses and enabling operations every day, including weekends.
According to Garlinghouse, Ripple’s Treasury management platform currently serves major clients such as American Airlines, Trax, Subway, Adecco, Kingfisher, and Christian Louboutin. He emphasized the platform’s ability to support a seamless, automated workflow covering position management, liquidity forecasting, reconciliation, and other essential functions.
The service integrates Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin for instant settlements and is built on the XRP Ledger, leveraging XRP both as a liquidity source and as the network’s native asset. Garlinghouse detailed how routine weekend transactions and immediately settled financial agreements can now use stablecoins, reducing exposure to volatility and enhancing efficiency for large corporations.
Mini dictionary: RLUSD is a U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin issued by Ripple, intended for use in various real-time settlement and Treasury applications. Stablecoins maintain their value by being backed by a reserve asset such as fiat currency or commodities.
Robinhood and BNY Global Expansions
Ripple is extending its technology stack, powered by XRP, to Robinhood, a retail crypto trading platform with a rapidly expanding global user base. The partnership encompasses both customer-facing infrastructure and core financial operations, aiming to provide Robinhood users with greater speed and reliability in digital asset services.
Ripple has also expanded its alliance with BNY Global, further strengthening its network with institutional partners. These developments are part of Ripple’s strategy to grow its enterprise solutions in global payments and Treasury management.
Market Insights and Regulatory Progress
Citing the 2026 AFP Liquidity Survey, Garlinghouse reported that 86% of treasury professionals would opt for real-time money market funds, provided these tools align with company investment policies and regulatory standards. The statistic highlights a strong market appetite for on-demand financial solutions in Treasury management.
Major corporates want real-time access to fund management, and that’s where Ripple aims with its new automation capabilities and stablecoin settlements.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent attended the event and acknowledged the evolving regulatory landscape around digital assets. He shared insights on how policy progress is paving the way for broader adoption of crypto infrastructure in the financial system.
Garlinghouse noted that, despite $13 trillion in corporate-linked payments processed last year, crypto assets had little involvement. He suggested that stablecoins give companies a way to avoid traditional market volatility, yet all transactions on the network still require fees paid in XRP’s smallest unit—known as “drops”—supporting the deflationary mechanics of the XRP token supply.
