Ripple has partnered with Stripe-owned Privy to introduce embedded wallets on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), expanding payment options for developers. According to its announcement, the integration will support XRP, RLUSD, and AI agent transactions, enabling fintech companies to offer blockchain payments without requiring customers to manage private keys.
Ripple and Privy Expand Embedded Wallet Access for XRPL Developers
Privy will enable developers to create and manage XRPL wallets programmatically and sign transactions through its infrastructure. These tools will support payments involving XRP, RLUSD, and other digital assets available on the network.
Embedded wallets will allow payment providers to offer stablecoin services within applications while simplifying account access for customers. Privy’s server-side wallets will also enable software agents to hold funds and transact through the x402 payment protocol.

Markus Infanger, Senior Vice President of RippleX at Ripple, highlighted the integration’s potential for financial applications. “Privy brings proven wallet infrastructure that makes it easier for fintechs and developers to bring XRPL into real products,” he stated.
He also emphasized XRPL’s settlement speed, low transaction costs, and support for digital asset transfers. Developers will retain private key and seed phrase export options, allowing users to maintain wallet ownership and portability.
XRPL Agent Payments Reach 13 Million as Automated Transactions Expand
According to Ripple, XRPL has processed 13 million agent payments, representing approximately 25% of network activity and supporting plans for automated commerce.
XRPL, a decentralized Layer 1 blockchain with over eight million funded accounts and $1 trillion in processed value, supports digital asset transfers, stablecoins, and tokenized real-world assets, while the Privy partnership expands stablecoin payment applications, as highlighted by Privy cofounder and CEO Henri Stern.
“Stablecoins are changing how money moves, and XRPL has been building for payments from the start,” he said.
Ripple Expands Institutional Custody and Tokenization Through Meritz Securities Partnership
Beyond developer payment infrastructure, Ripple is expanding its institutional services through a separate partnership with South Korea’s Meritz Securities. As reported by 36Crypto, Ripple’s fourth Korean institutional partnership this year will explore digital asset custody and tokenization within Meritz Securities’ existing operations.
Ripple Custody provides institutions with infrastructure for storing, transferring, and settling digital assets without developing independent custody systems. The collaboration aims to support stablecoin payments and automated transactions across XRPL.
What Happens Next
Ripple and Privy plan to introduce transaction policy controls and gas sponsorship, allowing developers to manage wallet activity more efficiently while simplifying payments for users. These additions will build on existing support for XRP, RLUSD, and AI agent transactions through the x402 protocol, expanding XRPL’s capabilities for digital payments and automated commerce.
