Ripple has added new features to Ripple Treasury that aim to let companies earn returns on operating cash outside normal banking hours. The announcement was made at Swell 2026 and centres on a capability called 24/7 Returns, which uses digital instruments such as $RLUSD, Ripple's dollar-backed stablecoin.
What 24/7 Returns does
24/7 Returns is designed to help eligible corporate customers generate returns on operating cash that would otherwise remain idle overnight, over weekends, and during holidays. Customers may earn returns on qualifying digital assets held in a Ripple wallet, including RLUSD, subject to meeting program requirements. Businesses can put eligible cash to work beyond traditional banking hours without independently managing the underlying digital asset transactions.
The pitch addresses a basic gap in corporate cash management: traditional banking rails largely pause when markets and banks are closed, leaving balances unproductive for long stretches. Ripple's earlier materials described the plan as 24/7 yield on idle cash through overnight repo and tokenized money market funds , though the October announcement specifically highlights RLUSD held in a Ripple wallet.
AI orchestration and client base
Alongside the returns feature, Ripple introduced an orchestration layer. At the center of the platform is an orchestration layer that works with GSmart, Ripple Treasury's AI-focused tech. The layer is intended to automate cash forecasts, reconciliations and payments across treasury workflows.
Ripple said the capabilities are designed for global businesses including American Airlines, Trax, Christian Louboutin, Subway, Adecco and Kingfisher. The company described the launch as a step toward always-on corporate treasury, combining established treasury management functionality, AI-powered orchestration and digital rail infrastructure.
Ripple Treasury is built on GTreasury, the treasury management system Ripple acquired. GTreasury had over 40 years of enterprise credibility and an existing base of major corporate clients , according to Genfinity. That legacy client base gives Ripple a ready audience for digital-asset features, rather than requiring it to build a treasury product from scratch.
Ripple's Senior Vice President of Ripple Treasury, Renaat Ver Eecke, said the way businesses move money is changing, and treasury needs to evolve with it.
The launch comes as Swell runs in New York from October 27 to 29. Market coverage notes that $XRP is trading at about $1.30, down 12.5% in October , and Swell has historically not moved the XRP price , according to 24/7 Wall St. The treasury features themselves rely on RLUSD rather than XRP.
Ripple has not detailed return rates or eligibility thresholds in the announcement, so the practical appeal for corporate treasurers will depend on those terms and on how the program is structured.
