Robinhood Joins Circle's Arc at Launch

@RobinhoodApp has formally announced that its platform will soon support Arc, a Layer 1 blockchain built by @Circle. The integration will allow users to move $USDC tokens directly on the Arc network, offering a streamlined path from off-chain holdings to on-chain activity without relying on fragmented cross-chain bridges.

The announcement places Robinhood among a broad group of trading and liquidity platforms confirmed at Arc's mainnet launch. Circle's official launch materials list Robinhood alongside 1inch, Uniswap, Pump.fun, and others as onchain trading and liquidity protocols expanding access across spot trading, structured products, perpetuals, and cross-chain execution.

What Arc Is and Why It Matters

Arc is an open Layer 1 blockchain built by Circle for stablecoin-native financial activity, designed from the ground up for moving, settling, and programming digital money, rather than trying to support every on-chain trend under one roof. It uses USDC as its native gas token, runs on a Tendermint-derived consensus engine called Malachite, and is designed for institutional settlement and stablecoin finance.

Fees on Arc are denominated in USDC, with the network's fee documentation setting a base fee target of about $0.01 per transaction. That predictability is a deliberate design choice. Arc is a Layer 1 network purpose-built for financial applications, with every transaction fee paid in USDC instead of a separate gas token, a design meant to make costs predictable for institutions and developers who already operate in stablecoin terms.

Arc has attracted major institutions and ecosystem participants, including BlackRock, DTCC, Visa, Mastercard, Aave, and Uniswap. Circle's roadmap includes a potential transition to proof-of-stake consensus in 2027, expanded privacy capabilities, and network capacity exceeding 100,000 transactions per second.

Robinhood's decision to support Arc from launch reflects the platform's continued push into crypto infrastructure. For users, it means the ability to move $USDC on-chain through a regulated, retail-friendly interface, directly on a network built to handle institutional-grade settlement. That combination of retail access and institutional design is central to Arc's positioning as a settlement layer for next-generation financial services.
