TLDR

  • Sui’s USDC integration with Samsung Wallet goes live later in November for eligible US Galaxy users.
  • Supported USDC transfers on Sui carry no network fee and do not require holding SUI tokens.
  • The integration could reach around 82 million compatible Galaxy devices in the United States.
  • Samsung launched USDC on Solana on November 2, making Sui the second network on the service.
  • Samsung says Korean won stablecoins could come to the wallet if South Korea sets up rules.

Samsung Wallet users in the United States will soon have a second blockchain option for sending USDC. Sui said on November 5 that its USDC integration with the wallet will go live for eligible Galaxy users later in November.

The rollout follows Samsung’s launch of USDC on Solana on November 2. That makes Sui the second network to connect to Samsung’s new Stablecoin Account service.

Sui’s Chinese-language account said the integration could reach around 82 million compatible Galaxy devices in the United States. Users will not need to install a separate crypto wallet to use it.

No SUI Token Needed for Transfers

The main difference with the Sui version is how fees work. On most blockchains, users must hold the network’s native token to pay transaction fees, even when sending a dollar-backed stablecoin.

Sui removes that step for supported transfers. According to the Sui Foundation, supported USDC transactions carry no network fee for the sender and do not require buying SUI first.

The feature runs on Sui’s gasless stablecoin transfer system, which went live on its mainnet in May 2026. Samsung Wallet provides the app that users see, while Sui handles transactions in the background.

The SUI token itself will not be available in Samsung Wallet at launch. The integration is limited to USDC for now.

Samsung first named Sui as a blockchain partner on October 8, alongside Solana. Adeniyi Abiodun, co-founder and chief product officer of Mysten Labs, said Sui would offer “the network underneath to make this critical economic activity seamless, fast, and available 24/7.”

Sui said its blockchain has handled more than $1 trillion in stablecoin transfer volume since August 2025. Native USDC arrived on the network in 2024, followed by integration with Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol.

How the Solana Version Works Today

The Solana-based service lets eligible users buy, hold, send and receive USDC inside the existing Wallet app. A November 5 update from the Solana Foundation said users can send funds to other Samsung Wallet users, external crypto wallets and qualifying bank accounts.

International transfers are supported to eligible bank accounts in more than 60 countries. Recipients may get the money in their local currency.

Samsung does not charge fees for supported wallet-to-wallet transfers, but receiving providers may add charges. Bank transfers carry fees based on the destination and amount.

The service is open to US residents aged 18 or older with compatible Galaxy devices running Android 13 or later. New York residents are excluded, and users must complete registration, identity checks and biometric authentication.

Bastion provides the regulated stablecoin account and payment infrastructure, with Coinbase acting as sub-custodian through Coinbase Prime Vault. Samsung does not hold customer funds or operate as a bank.

Woncheol Chai, head of the Digital Wallet Team at Samsung Electronics, said in October that “stablecoins have the potential to make moving money around the world faster and easier.” Samsung has also discussed future support for online and in-store stablecoin payments, including tap-to-pay on Galaxy devices.

On November 5, Samsung Global Research managing director Park Hyun-soo said Korean won stablecoins could eventually come to Samsung Wallet if South Korea sets up a proper regulatory framework. He also raised concerns about how wide stablecoin use could affect bank deposits, lending and monetary policy.
