Satsuma Technology has liquidated its entire Bitcoin position, selling all 669 BTC and returning £31.9 million to shareholders in a full reversal of its treasury bet. The Satsuma Technology Bitcoin sale wipes out the company’s direct crypto exposure and hands the proceeds back to investors.

Satsuma Technology Sells All 669 BTC

Satsuma Technology has sold all 669 BTC it held, closing out the position in full.

The move stands in sharp contrast to the company’s earlier aggressive accumulation, when it raised $218 million in Bitcoin funding to build a corporate treasury. For related coverage, see Satsuma Technology Raises $218 Million in Bitcoin Funding.

That same funding push saw the firm add 1,097 BTC to its treasury during an oversubscribed round, underscoring how far the strategy has now swung the other way. For related coverage, see Crispin Odey Loses Bid to Overturn UK Financial Services Ban.

£31.9 Million Returned to Shareholders

Satsuma is returning £31.9 million to shareholders on the back of the disposal.

The figure represents a capital return to investors, not a stated profit or the gross proceeds of the Bitcoin sale. The distribution mechanism, payment date, eligibility terms, and any per-share amount have not been disclosed, and there is no confirmation that funds have reached shareholders yet.

The company’s trajectory has drawn scrutiny before, including an alleged $53 million BTC sale that went unverified.

What the Full Sale Means for Satsuma’s Bitcoin Holdings

Because the sale covers the entire stated holding, none of that Bitcoin remains on Satsuma’s books. The disposal eliminates the company’s direct exposure to Bitcoin price swings from that position.

Selling the full holding is not the same as a permanent commitment to avoid Bitcoin. Whether Satsuma buys again, shifts strategy, or exits crypto for good is not established by the available information.

For a firm that had leaned hard into a Bitcoin treasury, unwinding it and paying investors back marks a decisive pivot. The question now: was this a one-off cash-out, or the end of Satsuma’s crypto chapter?
