Strategy executive chairman Michael Saylor said he believes Bitcoin has entered a new bull market. He predicted the cryptocurrency will climb back above $100,000.
Saylor made the comments on October 13 during an interview with Bloomberg Television. Bitcoin was trading near $83,000 at the time, about 34% below its record high from October 2025.
Saylor said he thinks the worst of the decline is over. “We hit the bottom around slightly below $60,000,” he said.
He noted that Bitcoin has since recovered into the $80,000 range. He said the price would return to six figures but did not give a timeline.
Bitcoin reached a peak of $126,251 in October 2025. Shortly after that record, the market saw about $19 billion in liquidations, which put pressure on leveraged positions.
The cryptocurrency has traded around $80,000 since mid-August. That followed a long slide from its all-time high.
Saylor pointed to several reasons for his outlook. These include changing monetary conditions, new regulations, and more investment from large institutions.
He also expects Bitcoin to benefit as banks adopt it. He said demand for digital credit products should grow as financial firms expand their crypto services.
Strategy Adds More Bitcoin
Saylor said Strategy plans to add more Bitcoin as the market recovers. The company intends to issue more securities to fund those purchases.
Between October 5 and October 11, Strategy bought 250 Bitcoin for about $21.5 million. The purchase raised its total holdings to 848,250 Bitcoin.
During the same period, the company bought back $192.4 million of its preferred shares.
Saylor said he expects Bitcoin to grow 20% to 30% per year over the coming years. This is his own long-term forecast and not a guaranteed return for investors.
Strategy funds its operations through several methods. These include preferred shares, cash reserves, and sales of common stock.
MSCI Decision Due Friday
Strategy also faces a possible change to MSCI’s global equity index rules. The proposal could remove companies that mainly hold assets rather than run operating businesses.
Saylor criticized the plan and said Strategy should stay classified as an operating company. He called MSCI’s position “a bad precedent for them and for the industry” and asked the index provider to reconsider.
JPMorgan has estimated that removal from the index could put about $2.8 billion in investment flows at risk.
MSCI is expected to announce its decision on Friday. The outcome will decide whether Strategy remains eligible for global benchmarks and the funds that track them.
